Ten years of leading workshops in a variety of settings, from penitentiaries to living rooms, art galleries to museums, zen centers to churches, have trained me in a flexible and humorous approach.

My week long workshops at Ghost Ranch, ten years deep, continue to delight participants (we do evaluations). Poetics for Earth Householders: We'll read and write forms from many cultures, including the ghazal, pantoum, tanka, anaphora, and Beat ragas.

The Story and the Song: An exploration in prose and poetry of the plot lines and songlines of a life, a fabulous riff with Your Material.

Writing Under Extremes: Extremities such as illness, death, love, or crisis may be places of breakthrough for your writing. We'll map out the territory and navigate the rapids with writing. Especially suited to groups of therapists, residential treatment centers, or anyone willing to free fall off the comfortable edges, we'll also discuss and experience how healing may be a fringe benefit when the focus is on the writing, not the self.
