Note ; Making movies like this one can be a very rewarding and
fulfilling experience...here are a few Video Movie Tips ......
some down-sides and up-sides, that hopefully will help you decide
if it would be worth the investment to you......

1. PATIENCE ; The first tip on this list is that unless you have a whole lot of 
patience, you would be better off to stick to watching videos instead of trying to 
make them.....I’m not trying to discourage anyone..just giving my honest opinion, 
based on my own experience..
And hopefully trying to save some poor soul the expense of investing in 
camcorders, software and/or programs that will only collect dust...you cannot 
return software to the store it came from usually...you have to send it back into 
the company that it came from...and that can take weeks,even months...which can 
hurt someone that is on a tight budget.There is a very large difference between 
just filming a movie on your camcorder and then downloading it to your computer......
Compared to making a movie like the one shown here.....
Most movie-making software programs that are free can be really frustrating,
but of course they are cheaper than the ones you have to buy.
The reason I put Patience first on this list is because it can take up to 3 and a 
half hours to save a 12 and a half minute movie to your computer or dvd..until you 
do this, the only place you can watch it will be in your program .....and what will 
really knock your socks off is when after you have waited all that time to finally 
watch your masterpiece, you find that what you were seeing in your program 
IS NOT what you get.....then you have to go back and redo, then wait all over again..
and hope that you got it right this time...no gaurantees.
Remember the word ‘ wysiwyg ‘.This will become a very important 
word in your vocabulary when it comes to software programs...
‘What You See Is What You Get ‘ ...wysiwyg.

2. KEEP YOUR MOUTH CLOSED & YOUR EYES OPEN....
Unless you can keep your mouth closed for long periods at a time, and your eyes 
open, you won’t do well at filming movies to start with....for you will be forever 
cutting into your movie trying to cut out the ‘boo-boos’...and that can get really 
nerve-racking...also it can cause you to have to cut out some of the best parts of 
your movie....so, you must learn to keep your mouth shut during filming..or at 
least make sure that you want what you’re saying in the finished movie....
And as said, you must keep your eyes open, or stay focused so that you don’t miss 
those ‘ special ‘ moments, that may never replay theirselves again....

3. TIME & EVENTS DO NOT STAND STILL FOR US.......
Things don’t just happen at ‘our’ convienience, or on our schedule..If you are 
going to be serious about making movies, you must be prepared to go where & 
when an event is taking place...whether you really want to or not....
The movie you just watched is just the end section of another movie that I 
made...the first part of the movie was made at an auction...It was around 30 degrees 
and it was night-time, which made it even colder and more miserable...but my niece 
was riding in the auction that night...so........believe me, I was forever trying to cut 
out the sniffing and snorting I had been doing while filming...
The movie shown here was filmed in July...it must have been 100 degrees 
that day, or at least it felt like it while holding the cam for as long as I did.......again, 
the movie on this page iis just the result of cutting clips out of the original movie..
...but again, events do not happen at our convienience...

4. EQUIPMENT....
If you don’t own a camcorder, or can’t borrow one, you’ll have to invest in one....
even the cheapest descent camcorder will run close to $300.00. I do not advise using 
the $100.00 and less expensive combination camera/video type.Not all, but a lot of 
them have fuzzy video movie results....but their still images are usually pretty sharp 
if you want to make a slideshow. Once you invest in a camcorder, you will then need 
to learn to adjust settings, etc. for exposure, focus, etc.
You will need to invest in a cam bag, or camcorder carrying case, also...for 
extra blank tapes or cd’s...and the battery charger....The case needs to be very 
padded to keep your equipment safe...the case usually runs $25.00-$75.00.You will 
really need to invest in a tripod, eventually, to support your camera at times..these 
usually do not come with the camcorder.A good tripod can run close to $100.00.00. 
Eventually, you will need to invest in extra dvd’s..most computers will become 
bogged down (you will run out of space) if you don’t keep taking your movies off as 
you make them...unless you want to invest in an external hard-drive...which will run 
at least $100.00 or more....depending on how many movies you eventually make, the 
dvd’s are cheaper...they run around $20.00 for a 10 pack ...if you make a lot of 
movies, the external hard-drive will be cheaper in the longrun, tho. Unless you use a 
free one, The software program can run anywhere from $40.00-$400.00....that will 
depend on how much you want to invest in it...the rule of thumb applies here...the 
more you spend, the more you get..
