Committees

Committees are the official structure by which the business of the church is conducted. The chairpersons of the various committees (commissions) are elected at the Charge Conference in the Fall of each year. Other committee members may be elected at the Charge Conference or appointed by the various committee chairpersons. For the most part participation on committees may be either by members or friends of the church. Our committee chairpersons are always looking for new people.

Administrative Board

The official decision making committee for our church. Membership consists of the chairpersons of the other committees.

Education Committee
In charge of Sunday School and Vacation Church School. A flair for teaching and learning experiences would make you a valuable addition to our education program

Evangelism Committee

Reaches out to people with the good news of Jesus Christ. We encourage people to become a part of the community of God by welcoming them with genuine Christian hospitality so that they may develop a relationship with God and live as a Christian disciple. Come join us as we reach out to tell the story of Jesus Christ the Son of God!

Missions Committee

Responsible for the various mission activities that our church supports. Helping those in our community - local, state, national and international - may be just what you are looking for. Become a part of this committee for a very rewarding experience.

Staff Parish Relations Committee

Works as a team within the congregation to interpret our local church's mission and vision with its constituencies and oversees all paid staff of our church.

Trustees
Responsible for the physical facilities: church, parsonage and other properties. Responsibilities also include care of the lawn and church campus. Are you knowledgeable and handy when it comes to maintenance and repairs? Your expertise is needed!

Communications/Web Team

The creator and developer of this Web site and other communications for First United Methodist Church. If you enjoy working on the computer, designing newsletters and have a touch of creativity, our team is looking forward to welcoming you aboard!

Youth Council
Requires a sincere desire to work with our young people. The activities are many and varied. Can you keep up with today's youth? Join us for a very rewarding experience!
