Conference 2009 Goals
1. Evangelism: We will provide the congregation with the tools,
techniques and skills necessary for them to take an active role in
sharing the good news of the gospel within our community.
2. Worship: As we move back into our renovated sanctuary we will take
this opportunity to examine the entirety of our worship and make needed
changes. We will find volunteers and equip teams to work with sound and
technology systems and strengthen usher teams. We will examine our
morning worship schedule considering one service
or two, addition of a contemporary service, and the times worship and
Sunday school will begin. We will look at our music program to make
sure it is moving in the direction
our church wants.
3. We will strengthen our ministries to young families by concentrating
on our children’s Sunday school, children’s
ministries, and young adult ministries.
4. We will promote and publicize the mission statement of the church:
“We are a loving and caring Church, personally and
collectively involved,
dedicated to Christ,
with the purpose of touching the lives of those in our church and in
our community to bring them to a closer relationship with Christ.
”
5. We will continue to reach out to inactive members.
6. We will begin to transition toward a full time facilities
person including building maintenance.

TICKETS. "THERE" is the Annual United
Methodist Men's Valentine Banquet for the Ladies of Glen Rose First
United Methodist Church. It will be held at the GLEN LAKE
RECEPTION ROOM (adjacent to cafeteria) gathering at 5:30 PM and eating
at 6:00 PM on Friday, February 12, 2010. Dress Option is
"Sunday School" type dress. Each ticket is $12.50. Hopefully,
each married man will purchase at least three tickets: One
for his lovely spouse; one for himself; AND ONE FOR A SINGLE LADY OF
THE CHURCH. A nice meal, served buffet-style, will be
prepared by the Glen Lake Camp Staff. It will be DELICIOUS! If
you wish to help with the decorations, we currently anticipate working
on the decorations beginning at 3:00 PM on Friday, February 12 at the
Glen Lake Camp Reception Room. Contact Jack D. Davidson at
254-898-1622 if you have questions regarding decorations.
